Yesterday (2/20/10), we said good bye to our new friends Jacques and Silvie Jaillet. Jac and Sil are from near Montreal Canada and traveled to the southwest in their Class C motor home towing a trailer with their trike inside. Their trike wing was folded and secured on top of their motor home. All in all - I would say they had a great time with their trike flying around to some of the nearby wonders of our wonderful New Mexico.
With Mike and other pilots guiding them, they had a grand tour of surrounding landscapes near us and between Taos and Albuquerque. Jac and Sil are both pilots and photographers and really got a dose of our beautiful 100 mile plus skies while here.
They based their operation here at our Airpark, flying nearly every day to such locations as Magdalena, the baby volcanoes to our NW, Mt Taylor and surroundings, Taos, and all points in between. They were able to enjoy the friendly atmosphere of our small Airpark and the neighboring airfields, even partaking in a pancake breakfast at Belen one sunny Saturday morning.
We certainly enjoyed their company and hope to cross (flight) paths again sometime. Perhaps, we have another reason to venture to the NE part of the U.S. so we can go a little further north to Montreal to visit Jac and Sil. Bon voyage & blue skies, Jac and Sil!
